I’ve been working for Rodan + Fields since 2017 and a lot of the times I can’t post the hair + makeup I am doing on the talent because the content we are producing has not been released to the public yet or the product has not launched. So, over the next couple of weeks I am going to be posting a lot of my Hair + Makeup pictures that I am now able to show you all. I hope you guys enjoy!

Great day shooting with the production team at Rodan + Fields on this video about the Pro Cleansing MD System, a new tool that the doctors created for your at home needs. It take a minute to get used to the Pro Cleansing MD System, but it works well. Check out the video to see how Nurse Mary breakdown the system.

LA Studio Photoshoot /  by alec vanderboom

Had a great time in LA shooting with photographer and editor-in-chief Robert Silver, Le Rickie designer of RocRio, and the beautiful model Lissette Maravilla. This shoot went so well, the hard light photography came out gorgeous with the dresses that Rickie designed. I had a fun time using my new Ellis Faas eyeliner, the metallic color that reflected in the photography was amazing. I used the liqiud eyeliner as a lipstick, it pulled the makeup look together. Lissette, did an awesome job modeling, she killed it with the poses!

"This past Sunday we hosted the first Studio Fashion Shoots(Hard Light Photography) in downtown Los Angeles with Derek Rodgers featuring model Lissette Maravilla wearing designs by Roc Rio Designs.  Each photographer had multiple two minute rounds to create their own perspective on deep contrast and shadow play. They had creative control on how to direct the model in order to see their vision come to life. The lighting set up consisted of a two to a four light set up."

The Bride and Groom took their photos at Matanzas Creek Estate and Lavender Gardens. Matanzas Creek is a beautiful winery in Sonoma County that has wonderful Lavender Gardens, which not only smells amazing but looks great. This is an amazing place to take wedding photos, they accommodate the wedding party in the tasting room as well as the beautifully decorated outside seating. The views are amazing, they made a great decision on having their wedding photos taken at Matanzas Creek Winery.

This was my first year attending the San Francisco Fashion Awards and it was very memorable. I got invited by Marciella Olague, a San Francisco based designer, to be her lead hairstylist for the show. We decided to go with a sleek top knot/bun and add gold touch. The makeup was based off our shoot we did with Fashion Xchange Magazine for The Avant Garde Issue | No. 10, we kept the theme going with the dramatic eye.


The first model (pictured below) Karina Lamar, also walked for House of Ccuoco, another SF based designer who debuted her line in London this year( http://ccuoco.com), that is why her hair is different from the rest. 

Also we had two models wear hats that Marciella made, so we just kept their hair down and sleek.

This was my first time collaborating with everyone and being part of the Meet Up. On the Meet Up site you can find Robert Silver Workshop, his group focuses on everything about fashion photography.

Robert Silver hosts the Meet Up and as quoted on his site... "Whether it'll be industry expectations, dealing with models, make up arts & hair stylists, lighting, good business practices, concepts & composition and creative directing I plan on covering all the above & more. I will be inviting professional make up artists & hair stylists to help prepare the model for our workshops & group shoots.
